Arsenal – Watford
After having a dissapointing season in the Premier League, Arsenal will try to at least finish it on a high note. On Sunday the Gunners will face Watford at the Emirates in a match from the last 38th round.
Being 10th in the league is not something which gives Arsenal’s fans much reasons to feel proud. But it is what it is. The club started the season with Unai Emery, but they sacked him and replaced him with the unexperienced Mikel Arteta. The former Arsenal captain is trying to change many things, but it’s going to be a long process.
If they win against Watford and have enough luck in two other games, Arsenal could climb to 8th place and finish there. But of course it wouldn’t make much of a difference to the fans. They are dissapointed and they have enough reasons why.
But Arsenal’s fans are still patient with Arteta. Despite of the loss to Aston Villa in the previous round, Arteta was backed by the supporters. They expect better things next season.
Let’s say some words about Watford as well. The Hornets will make their last effort to remain in the Premier League. What they can do is make some kind of a positive result at the Emirates and hope that Aston Villa won’t win anything against West Ham in London. Both teams are having the same amount of points at the moment, so it’d be a dramatic end of the season for them. One of these two teams – Watford or Aston Villa will go down to the Championship.
For Watford this visit to the Emirates will be a matter of life and death. They need one or three points there, but Arsenal surely won’t just give up and handle them the win. Despite of the lack of fans, Gunners would like a strong finish of the season in the Premier League.
