Barcelona – Deportivo Alaves

Just few days after the El Classico against Real Madrid Barcelona hosts Deportivo Alaves at the Camp Nou. Let’s spend few minutes to take a look at this La Liga game in the Catalan capital.

We can say the last El Classico was a major dissapointment. Barcelona and Real Madrid met at the Camp Nou on Wednesday, but the game ended without any goals scored – 0-0. Both teams had some rare chances to score, but they didn’t. Barcelona’s best chance was when Lionel Messi found Jordi Alba behind the defense, but the left back was not accurate enough with his shot.

After this draw nothing changes for Barcelona in the standings. The Catalans remain leaders with 36 points, but Real Madrid are second with the same amount of points. It seems that we will have a pretty close fight for the title this season.

Now Barca don’t have any room for mistake against Alaves. The manager Ernesto Valverde still can’t use the injured Arthur or Ousmane Dembele. Sergio Busquets didn’t play in the Classico because he had health problems, but most likely he will be fit to play on Saturday. If Valverde doesn’t surprise us, we expect once again to see Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Antoine Griezmann in attack.

Deportivo Alaves are currently 14th in the league with 19 points and a record of 5 wins, 4 draws and 8 losses. Right now they are 5 points ahead of the relegation zone, but if they don’t find consistency, this margin could be lowered in future.

In their last game Deportivo Alaves hosted Leganes at home, but the match ended without a winner – 1-1. Martin Braithwaite opened the score for the visitors, but Joselu saved the point for Alaves.

This is our quick preview for the La Liga game between Barcelona and Deportivo Alaves on Saturday. Most likely the Catalans will take the three points here and there’s a big chance to see many goals scored.
