Deportivo Alaves – Sevilla
Deportivo Alaves hosts Sevilla in a match from the fourth round of the Spanish La Liga. We have a feeling a that it’s going to be really interesting at the Estadio de Mendizorroza, so let’s take a look.
Deportivo Alaves can be satisfied with the way they started the new campaign in Spain. After three rounds played so far, Alaves are 7th in the league standings with five points won so far. Asier Garitano’s team is still unbeaten since the start of the campaign, having a record of one win and two draws.
Alaves kicked off their season with a win against Levante at home, which was followed by draws with Espanyol and Getafe. Two weeks ago they travelled to face Getafe at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez and won a point after a 1-1 draw. Jorge Molina opened the score for the hosts, but Joselu equalised for the visitors.
Sevilla also started well under the guidance of their new manager Julen Lopetegui, who was appointed at the club in the summer. Los Rojiblancos won seven points from the first three rounds, also being unbeaten so far.
In the previous round Sevilla lost points for a first time this season. Lopetegui’s boys hosted Celta at home, but only won a point after a dissapointing for the fans 1-1 draw. Both goals in the game were scored in the last 10 minutes. Franco Vazquez opened the score for Los Rojiblancos, but Denis Suarez equalised for Celta.
Both Deportivo Alaves and Sevilla will want to keep their undefeated record on Sunday at the Estadio de Mendizorroza. Both teams are looking good since the beginning of the campaign, so don’t be surprised to see a competitive game between them and eventually a draw. But this is the Spanish La Liga, so the winner could be anyone.
