Inter – Borussia Dortmund
One of the most interesting games in the Champions League for the week is going to be played in Milan, because Inter are hosting Borussia Dortmund in a fixture from Group F of the competition.
This looks like a really crucial fixture for the Italian side, because the Nerazzurri are in a very difficult situation at the moment. Antonio Conte’s team is doing really well in the Serie A, but in the Champions League the 2010 champions have won just one point from two games played. Being three points behind the leaders Borussia Dortmund and Barcelona, Inter don’t have any other choice at the moment – they must improve their performance as much as they can.
After the huge dissapointment against Slavia Praha at the San Siro, Inter suffered a defeat against Barcelona at the Camp Nou. Lautaro Martinez’ goal in the first half was not enough, because Luis Suarez’ brace after the break defeated the Nerazzurri.
Antonio Conte and his players are aware – it’s “now or never” type of situation for Inter Milan. If they want to remain the Champions League, the win against Borussia Dortmund is a must.
Of course, it won’t be easy, because Dortmund are not coming to the San Siro to lose. With four points won from the first two rounds, the Germans are leading the group being ahead of Barcelona.
If we take a look at Borussia Dortmund’s current form, we will see that lately they are not as convincing as they can be. In their last five matches in all competitions, Lucien Favre’s boys won only twice and made three draws. Although we suppose that a draw against Inter Milan at the San Siro would be a good strategical result for the 2013 finalists.
We don’t know about blood, but we expect a lot of commitment by these two teams on Wednesday night. Both Inter Milan and Borussia Dortmund are finding this game really important, so we are sure it’s going to be interesting.
