Lazio – Cremonese

The holder of the trophy Lazio hosts Cremonese at the Stadio Olimpico in a match from the 1/8-finals of the Coppa Italia.

Lazio are doing something remarkable this season. Right now they are enjoying a run of 10 consecutive wins in the Serie A, which makes them the Italian club in the best shape at the moment. The head coach Simone Inzaghi and his players surely deserve compliments for what they are doing, because it’s truly special. If they continue to play like this, Lazio shall not face any trouble to return to the Champions League for the next season. Or maybe even fighting for the title with Inter Milan and Juventus?

On Saturday the Eagles celebrated their 10th consecutive win in the Serie A. Lazio hosted Napoli and the Olimpico and they won, although they had to wait until the 82th minute to score the winner. This is when the Serie A topscorer Ciro Immobile found the net behind David Ospina and made the Olimpico celebrate again.

It’s logical to expect Simone Inzaghi to make some rotations in his line-up for this match. Players like Valon Berisha, Danilo Cataldi, Jony and Patric could get some minutes against Cremonese.

Cremonese reached the Coppa Italia 1/8-finals after a home win against Empoli in the previous round. The Brazilian centre back Claiton scored the only goal in the game in the first half, allowing his team to progress in the competition.

In the Serie B Cremonese are not among the teams who are doing well. They are currently 17th in the standings with just 21 points and it seems that they are going to fight to avoid relegation this season.

We don’t have any doubts that Lazio are going to punish Cremonese in this Coppa Italia 1/8-final game, even if the manager Simone Inzaghi chooses to rotate the team. They have much more quality.
