Leicester City – Chelsea
For Leicester City every step until the end of the season could be a step towards another participation in the Champions League. Right now the Foxes are third in the standings with 48 points, being 14 points ahead of the 5th Manchester United. This is a pretty good gap between them and the teams outside the Top 4. What they must do now is keep their level and it wouldn’t be a problem to finish among the first four.
After two defeats in a row, in the previous round Leicester secured their 15th win for the season. Brendan Rodgers’ boys faced West Ham United at home and id a pretty good job for a 4-1 win. The Spanish ace Ayoze Perez scored a double for the hosts, while Harvey Barnes and Ricardo Pereira scored as well.
For the derby against Chelsea Brendan Rodgers can’t use the injured Daniel Amartey, who is still sidelined.
Chelsea are another team fighting to secure a Top 4 place and a qualification for the Champions League. Right now the Blues are 4th, 8 points behind their next opponent. Against Leicester Chelsea will look for a win after getting just one point in their last two matches.
In the previous round Chelsea separated the points with Arsenal in a pretty good London derby at the Stamford Bridge. Jorginho and Cesar Azpilicueta scored for Frank Lampard’s team, but even with ten men on the pitch Arsenal still managed to get a point.
Normally we would say that Chelsea are favourites against Leicester City, but right now the situation is a little bit different, because the Foxes are the team that performs better in the league. For Chelsea it’s going to be a tough visit to the King Power, that’s no doubt about that.
