Liechtenstein – Italy

The underdogs in Group J of the European qualifiers Liechtenstein host Italy at the Rheinpark Stadion in Vaduz. It’s going to be another easy win for the Azzurri, who already qualified for Euro 2020? We will see.

That’s right. Thanks to their win against Greece few days ago, Italy now officially qualified for the next European championship. The former world champions are above anyone else in this group, having a perfect record of seven wins from seven games played and 21 points won. Their performance so far has been just flawless.

Few days ago the Azzurri celebrated their qualification for the European championship after a 2-0 win against Greece at the Stadio Olimpico. Both goals for the hosts were scored after the halftime break, when Roberto Mancini’s boys put their feet on the pedal.

Jorginho opened the score for the Italians from a penalty kick in the 63th minute, while Juventus’ Fillippo Bernadeschi doubled Italy’s lead in the 78th minute. It was a fine performance by Mancini’s team and good enough to secure the three points.

As for Liechtenstein, we won’t surprise you by telling you that they are currently at the bottom of the standings with just 2 points won so far. These two points they won in their last two games, doing draws against Greece and Armenia.

Few days ago Liechtenstein hosted Armenia in Vaduz and won their second point in the group after a 1-1 draw. Tigran Barseghyan opened the score for the visitors, Yanik Frick equalsied for the hosts after the halftime break.

It’d be a long shot to say that Liechstenstein could gain a positive result against Italy, who are perfect in this group since the beginning of the qualifying campaign. But don’t forget that the Azzurri already won this group, so they might enter this game with a different mindset.
