Liverpool – Crystal Palace
Liverpool will try to make another step towards the title when they host Crystal Palace at the Anfield on Wednesday night. Let’s preview this match in the next few paragraphs.
Liverpool returned on the pitch after the COVID-19 pandemic with a boring 0-0 draw in the derby against Everton. This didn’t hurt the Reds very much, of course – they are still 23 points ahead of the champion Manchester City. Everything in the English league looks already decided – the Reds will win their first title since 30 years.
Liverpool’s manager Jurgen Klopp took some interesting decisions against Everton. He picked the Japanese talent Takumi Minamino in the starting eleven, while Mohamed Salah remained on the bech and didn’t participate. Because of this we think that Mo Salah will start against Crystal Palace on Wednesday night.
Naby Keita was one of the best players with red shirts on the pitch against Everton. Keita’s performance against the Toffees could win him a starting place for Wednesday as well.
Crystal Palace are 9th in the league with 42 poinst and they are more than happy with this performance. Roy Hodgson’s team returned in playing with a 2-0 win during the visit to AFC Bournemouth. Palace scored both goals in the first half when Milivojevic and Ayew put the ball behind Aaron Ramsdale. It was a great game for Crystal Palace.
Roy Hodgson has some injury problems in the squad before this visit to the Anfield. Jeffery Schlupp, Martin Kelly, Cenk Tosun and James Tomkins are not avaliable for selection at the moment.
Liverpool didn’t shine against Everton few days ago, but we believe that the Reds will find their way against Crystal Palace at the Anfield. The European champions have to finish what they started and this means winning the Premier League as soon as possible.
