Manchester City – Liverpool

The old champion Manchester City hosts the new champion Liverpool at the Etihad in a game from the 32th round of the Premier League. Although there will be no fans at the stands, we believe that these two teams could offer us a good match.

For Manchester City there’s nothing more to do in the Premier League this season. They already lost the title to the Reds, while they are also banned from participating in the Champions League next season. What they can do now is fight in the Champions League and the FA Cup. This is going to be their priority until the end of the campaign.

In the previous round City suffered their 8th loss in the league against Chelsea at the Stamford Bridge. Kevin De Bruyne scored a beautiful free kick goal against the Blues, but Chelsea scored one more and scored an important victory in the fight for the Top 4.

Fernandinho is not avaliable for Manchester City for this derby game. The Brazilian veteran got sent off during the game at the Stamford Bridge.

For Liverpool that’s going to be a first match since they officially won the title for a first time since 30 years. In their previous match they scored their 28th win for the season. Liverpool hosted Crystal Palace at the Anfield and enjoyed a solid 4-0 win. Mo Salah returned on the pitch with a goal, while Alexander-Arnold, Fabinho and Sadio Mane also put the ball in the net.

We believe that there would be some good energy between Manchester City and Liverpool at the Etihad, despite of the lack of fans. This game is not going to influence both teams in neither way, but they could try to offer a good spectacle to the fans. They deserve this in a difficult pandemic situation
