Manchester United – Manchester City

Manchester United hosts Manchester City at the Old Trafford in a first 1/2-final game from the Carabao Cup. The second leg is going to be played at the end of the month at the Etihad Stadium.

Manchester United reached the 1/2-finals of the Carabao Cup after a 2-1 win against Chelsea at the Stamford Bridge. It was a masterful performance by United’s striker Marcus Rashford, who scored both goals in the net of Chelsea’s Willy Caballero. One of them was a wonderful free kick, which reminded United’s fans about the days of Cristiano Ronaldo with the red shirt. Michy Batshuayi scored for Chelsea, but at the end of the game the Red Devils have scored one more.

In this match at the Stamford Bridge Ole Gunnar Solskjaer opted for a 3-4-3 formation with Victor Lindelof, Harry Maguire and Marcos Rojo at the back. It’d be curious to see if Solskjaer is going to pick again the three in the back against City, who have different tools in attack compared to Chelsea.

Manchester City are the current holders of the trophy in the Carabao Cup. The club have won this competition twice under the management of Pep Guardiola, doing it in the previous two seasons. Now they will try to do it for a third consecutive time.

Manchester City reached the 1/2-finals of the competition after a 3-1 win at the Etihad over Southampton. Sergio Aguero scored a brace for the champions, while the centre back Nicolas Otamendi added one goal for the hosts’ win. In this game Pep Guardiola started youngsters like Eric Garcia, Phil Foden and Thomas Doyle, while Adrian Bernabe enter the pitch after the break.

We have all reasons to expect a thrilling game between Manchester United and Manchester City in this first 1/2-final from the Carabao Cup on Tuesday. When these two Manchester giants meet it’s always entertaining, no matter of the competition.
