Sevilla – Real Sociedad

Sevilla hosts Real Sociedad at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan in a game from the seventh round of La Liga.

This is a difficult moment for Sevilla. A week ago Los Rojiblancos were leading the standings in Spain, but after two consecutive losses, they are now 7th in the table. Everything started with the home defeat against Real Madrid last weekend, which was followed by a very dissapointing loss against Eibar on Thursday. This is a very tough situation for the manager Julen Lopetegui, who must find a way to calm his boys and make them win again.

On Thusrday Sevilla suffered a pure nightmare in Eibar. At halftime the Andalusian were leading with 2-0 at the Ipurua, thanks to the goals of Lucas Ocampos and Oliver Torres. But everything went wrong in the second half, when Eibar scored three goals and surprisingly turned the game around in their favour.

Clearly Sevilla are in a tough mental state right now. This is now Lopetegui’s job to do some psychological work with his team and prepare the boys for the next game.

Meanwhile Real Sociedad are flying at the moment. The Basques are second in the league standings, being only behind the leader Real Madrid. In their last five matches they won four times and only lost against Athletic Bilbao.

Yesterday Real Sociedad hosted Deportivo Alaves at the Anoeta and celebrated a very convincing 3-0 win at home. All of the three goals in the game were scored in the first half. Mikel Oyarzabal scored twice in Pacheco’s net, while Willian Jose added one more for Imanol Alguacil’s team. Right now La Real are in a really good shape, there’s no doubt about that.

This game on Sunday is going to be really fun, because Sevilla have the advantage to play at home, but Real Sociedad are the team in a better shape. Everything could happen here.
