Spain – Poland
Spain hosts Poland in Sevilla in a match from Group E of the Euro 2020. Both teams are looking for their first wins in the competition, so let’s preview this fixture. Stay with us!
Spain created some excellent chances in their opening game against Sweden, but it ended with no goals scored – 0-0. Alvaro Morata missed one on one with the goalkeeper in the first half while after the break Gerard Moreno didn’t find the new with a header from a close distance.
The Spanish manager Luis Enrique didn’t have any reasons to be happy with his forwards against Sweden. He used six different attackers against the Scandinavians, but no one of them found a way to score. Players like Alvaro Morata, Dani Olmo and Ferran Torres didn’t defend their starting places while the substitutions Gerard Moreno, Pablo Sarabia and Mikel Oyarzabal didn’t do much as well.
If Enrique decides to make a change in midfield, most likely he’d give more playing time to Thiago Alcantara. Spain will need his creativity and ball distribution.
Poland will need inspiration after their bleak performance during the 1-2 loss from the hands of Slovakia. The experienced midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak got sent off against the Falcons, so he’s missing the clash with La Roja. His red card was one of the main reasons for Poland’s defeat against Slovakia, but it can’t be excuse – the Polish team was just poor.
Poland need to offer a better service to their captain Robert Lewandowski if they want to use his qualities. The Bayern Munich striker was isolated against Slovakia, and was unable to decide the game in the way he do it for Bayern.
That’s the preview for the Euro 2020 fixture between Spain and Poland on Saturday. La Roja will look for their first win in the competition this year while Poland will try to avoid conceding a second consecutive defeat.
