Wolverhampton Wanderers – Chelsea

Wolverhampton Wanderers faces Chelsea at the Molineux in a fixture from the 13th round of the Premier League. Let’s see what we can tell you about this game in the next few paragraphs.

Wolves approach the 13th round from 12th place in the standings. Nuno Santo’s team is not having the best possible start of the 2020/21 campaign. We got used to seeing them in the Top 10 or even the Top 6, but now they are obviously having some difficulties.

Wolverhampton lost their last two games in the league against Liverpool and Aston Villa. What’s even more worrying is the fact that Wolves didn’t score a single goal for 180 minutes of playing.

On Saturday Wolves hosted Aston Villa at the Molineux, but once again dissapointed with a poor performance and a 0-1 defeat. They were actually close to getting a draw there, but Villa’s El Ghazi scored a winner in the 94th minute of the game.

Chelsea are also arriving at the Molineux after a defeat in the last game. Frank Lampard’s boys had a trip to face Everton at the Goodison Park, but they conceded a 0-1 loss. Chelsea conceded the only goal in the match in the first half while after the break Lampard picked Abraham and Gilmour from the bench, but it didn’t really help.

This is a busy schledule, so most likely Frankie Lampard will make some rotations in his line-up. Players like Tammy Abraham, Jorginho and Cesar Azpilicueta could be in contention to return in the line-up. The new signing Hakim Ziyech remains sidelined with an injury and it’s pity because he’s making good matches when he’s in.

That’s the preview for the Premier League game between Wolverhampton Wanderers and Chelsea on Tuesday. Both teams lost their last matches in the league, so the motivation for an improvement is going to be there – that’s for sure.
